Dress Rehearsal Schedule + Steppin' Out April News

Let's get excited about this year's performance (which is fast approaching). Read on for information about our dress rehearsal schedule and other performance-related news (and if you missed the special performance email, you can still view it here).

As we gear up for the show, please make every effort to attend each class as we are in a critical period of not only learning choreography but also learning how to work and perform together as a group. Also, costumes are starting to arrive and classes will be fitted as soon as they do. We'll post costume prices shortly. Finally, please note that performance fees are due at this time. As always, if ever a fee poses a problem for your family, simply email Angela: Angela@steppinoutsf.com

DRESS REHEARSAL NEWS
The dress rehearsal schedule is now complete and posted on our website. Please make a note of your dancer's call times and remember to bring a sweater and a water bottle to the dress rehearsal.

MOVEMENT OF THE MONTH: POINT YOUR TOES!
Often our dancers have everything going for them: broad smiles, expressive movements, deep focus--but we still want the icing on the cake. Teach your dancers to point their toes! Here's how: practice sitting on the floor point with extended legs and point and flex the feet so your dancers can feel the difference. Once that feels comfortable, try jumping from first position and pointing toes in the air. More advanced dancers can point their toes while doing a cartwheel (other opportunities for "finished toes" include tendus, passés, or grand battments).

SPECIAL NEEDS DANCE COMPANY PERFORMS MAY 7th!
Treat yourself to an extra performance by Steppin' Out dancers and enjoy a beautiful day in Golden Gate Park. On Saturday, May 7th, our Special Needs Company with be performing at the Band Concourse at 1 p.m. as part of the Support for Families with Disabilities Event "Access to Adventure." Don't miss it!

SPONSOR A DANCER?
If you'd like to help support a family for whom purchasing a costume or paying the performance fee might be challenging, please contact Angela: Angela@steppinoutsf.com.
